Funky Football Plays Bitches Brew

Funky Football is the title of an unreleased album by Miles Davis. The band Funky Football provides an alternative point of view on one of the most important albums in the music history of the 20th century, in a sort of alternative future. Compositions remain the germinal elements from which a new and original sound path is developed, reflecting the strong personalities of the members of the sextet.

 

Funky Football are:

Tino Tracanna, soprano, tenor and baritone sax; Alfonso Santimone, Fender Rhodes, synth, laptop; Enrico Merlin, guitar, live electronics; Veniero Rizzardi, laptop, live electronics; Danilo Gallo, bass; Federico Scettri, drums

Special guest at Clusone Jazz Festival: Médéric Collignon, trumpet, voice

 

The Clusone recording was broadcast by RAI RadioTre on May 31, 2011, for the series I concerti del martedì.
The full show was hosted by Stefano Bollani, Pino Saulo, and Guido Zaccagnini.
Our Veniero Rizzardi was interviewed in that occasion.
The opening announcement is placed here at the end of the concert original recording, as a bonus track.

The Levico live show was engineered by Ivan Benvenuti and homemade recorded by Luca Gasperotti.
The recording surfaced during the Summer 2019 and added in this release as bonus material.
